Jim Dougherty is a Managing Director based in the New York office and co-heads Bayview’s Financial Institutions Group. Since 2016 he has lead a team responsible for sourcing private transaction opportunities and managing relationships with Bayview’s depository and fund counterparties. Jim has extensive experience in structuring bilateral credit risk transfer transactions with bank counterparties. Prior to joining Bayview in 2010, Jim ran U.S. Credit Investments for Deutsche Postbank and HSH Nordbank, and spent 16 years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management with a focus on investments in mortgage private placements and structured products. Jim earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Stern School at New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
